Thanks for your interest in becoming a Roon beta tester. Please read all of this information carefully before completing the form; we’ve tried to keep it short and sweet.
The email address on your Roon account will be used to contact you about this program. We can’t guarantee that all applicants will receive Beta access. If your application has been approved, you’ll receive an email letting you know when the update will be available for all devices associated with your account.
How to update:
- Core / macOS / Windows – in Roon, go to Settings > About to update your Core and any Mac or Windows remotes.
- iOS – Install the Testflight app and click the link emailed to you once beta begins
- Android – click the link emailed to you once beta begins to update via the Play Store
Please use the Beta category on Community to report any issues. If any of your devices aren’t updating, get in touch and let us know.

Things to do
- Back up your Roon database before updating to beta – there is no way to “downgrade” from beta without a backup, so make one now!
- Once you’re using the beta, use the Beta category on Community to share feedback and ask questions. As an early preview, the Roon 1.8 beta doesn’t have final release notes or documentation, so please give us your first impressions.
- Make sure you’ve read the Beta program terms and conditions carefully below.
Things to avoid
- Please don’t share information or screenshots from the Roon beta outside of the Beta section of our community site OR with anyone who isn’t part of the Roon beta program.
- Don’t update your phones or tablets before your Core is updated.
ABOUT BETA TESTING
- This is a beta, so some features may have rough edges. If potential stability issues are a deal breaker, beta isn’t for you.
- While it’s technically possible to roll back to the current version of Roon, leaving the Beta program isn’t a simple process, so make sure you’re committed and have read the terms and conditions before proceeding.
- All comments will be reviewed (and appreciated!), but we won’t be able to respond directly to each piece of feedback.
CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
The Roon Beta software is a pre-release version of Roon. All affiliated materials – including documentation, screenshots, and descriptions of features or functionality – are strictly confidential and may not be shared with anyone outside of the Beta Testing Program.
